 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  Governor Yusuf Boosts JTF Operations with New Vehicles and Motorcycles


Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has strengthened security operations in the state with the allocation of 10 vehicles and 50 motorcycles to the Joint Task Force (JTF).


The intervention is designed to enhance mobility, response time, and overall operational efficiency—particularly in the frontline Local Government Areas of Kiru, Tsanyawa, Kunchi, Ghari, Shanono, Tudun Wada, and Doguwa.


According to a statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the handover ceremony was held on Wednesday at the Government House, Kano.


The allocation letter was presented by the Director, Special Services, Umar Baba Zubairu, who represented the Director General, Special Services, Major General Sani Muhammad (rtd).


The JTF Commander, AM Tukur, was represented at the event by his Chief of Staff.


The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Commissioner of Police, the Director of DSS, the Commander of NSCDC, as well as Chairmen of Kiru, Tsanyawa, and Gwarzo Local Government Areas.


Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritizing security and supporting collaborative initiatives aimed at safeguarding lives and property across the state.
