 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable.  Joan Templeman, wife of Virgin Records founder Richard Branson, dies at 80

Joan Templeman, the wife of billionaire Virgin Records founder Richard Branson, has passed away at the age of 80.

Branson, 75, shared the news on Instagram Tuesday, describing Templeman as his "wife and partner for 50 years." No cause of death was disclosed. The couple met in early 1976 at a live-in recording studio built for Virgin and married in 1989. They had two children together, Holly and Sam.

In a tribute, Sam Branson called his mother the "kindest, most loving, warm, and abundantly generous woman to walk this Earth," adding he was grateful to have had the privilege of calling her his mother. Richard Branson described Templeman as the "most wonderful mum and grandmum our kids and grandkids could have ever wished for," and added, "She was my best friend, my rock, my guiding light, my world. Love you forever, Joan x."
