 Somali World Cup Referee Denied Entry to United States Award-winning Somali referee, Omar Artan, has been denied entry into the United States despite holding a valid visa, according to a senior official in Somalia’s sports ministry. Artan, who is set to become the first Somali referee to officiate at the FIFA World Cup finals, was stopped at Miami International Airport and subsequently returned to Istanbul, where he had been residing. The reason for the denial was not immediately disclosed. However, Somalia is among the countries affected by a travel ban introduced by the administration of Donald Trump.  Jonas Brothers partner with Samsung TV Plus for live New Year’s Eve special

The Jonas Brothers are set to ring in the new year with a special performance in partnership with Samsung TV Plus. The Grammy-nominated band will perform live at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, on New Year’s Eve, with the two-hour show livestreamed exclusively on Samsung TV Plus. The broadcast begins at 10 p.m. ET on Wednesday, December 31, and will feature the trio’s early hits, fan favorites, and tracks from their latest album, Greetings From Your Hometown.

The special was announced Saturday night during their concert in Buffalo, New York, part of a broader partnership with Samsung TV Plus to livestream five shows from their 2025 tour. “We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off 2026 than by celebrating with our fans,” the Jonas Brothers said. Salek Brodsky, Samsung TV Plus senior vice president, added that the performance will allow viewers to reflect, reset, and celebrate the new year with the band. Tickets for the Hollywood show go on presale on Wednesday, November 12, at 10 a.m. ET, with general sales starting November 13 at 10 a.m. ET via Ticketmaster.
