 Three de-ad, four coaches affected as Warri-Itakpe train derails The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has confirmed the d3ath of three persons following the derailment of the Warri-Itakpe train in Agbor, Delta State. The Corporation added that four coaches left the rail track during the incident which occurred on Monday, June 8, 2026. The Managing Director of NRC, Dr. Kayode Opeifa, said in a statement that the emergency response team and other relevant authorities are currently managing the situation and providing necessary assistance. “The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has confirmed a serious train accident involving the Warri–Itakpe Train Service (WITS) corridor at Agbor, Delta State,” the statement read. “Rescue and emergency response operations were immediately activated.  Kanu’s Legal Team Rejects Federal High Court Judgment, Heads to Appeal Court


The legal team representing the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has formally rejected the recent judgment sentencing Nnamdi kanu to life imprisonment delivered by the Federal High Court.


 the team led by constitutional lawyer Aloy Ejimakor expressed strong dissatisfaction with the ruling, describing it as unacceptable and fundamentally flawed. According to Ejimakor, the decision failed to  follow any legal law or logic.


He confirmed that the legal team would immediately proceed to the Court of Appeal to challenge the judgment, insisting that justice must prevail.


Ejimakor reiterated the team's commitment to exhausting all legal avenues to secure Kanu’s release, emphasizing that the fight for justice is far from over.
