She came close but did not pass the challenging two-day test she took in late July, after completing her four-year law apprenticeship in May.

"Six years into this law journey, and I'm still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up—just more studying and even more determination," she wrote. "Falling short isn’t failure—it's fuel."

The California bar exam covers 13 legal subjects and has a pass rate around 53.8%. Kim, now 45 and a mother of four, remains committed to trying again. She recently appeared as a divorce attorney in the Hulu series All's Fair with Glenn Close and Sarah Paulson, and shared her study progress on The Graham Norton Show last month. Her determination continues alongside her work in prison reform and entertainment. Many fans responded with messages of encouragement and support for her perseverance.
