 DELTA STATE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE ARREST OF SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS, GUN RUNNERS AND; RECOVERY OF TWO (2) AK-47 RIFLES, AND THIRTY-SIX (36) ROUNDS OF LIVE AMMUNITION The Delta State Police Command has recorded another major breakthrough in an intelligence-led operations targeting suspected kidnappers and illegal arms trafficking syndicate within and beyond the State. 1. ARREST OF FIVE SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS/ RECOVERY OF ONE AK-47 RIFLE AND THIRTY-SIX (36) ROUNDS OF 7.62MM LIVE AMMUNITION: On 24 April 2026 at about 1830hrs, operatives of the command's tactical team based in Ughelli, acting on credible intelligence arrested one Ahmadu Usman (m), 22, a native of Lafiya, Nasarawa State, at Ekuigbo area of Ughelli in connection with a kidnapping syndicate terrorising commuters along Ughelli–Warri Road. Kogi CP Visits Derailed Train Site At Adogo; Orders Deployment Of Personnel To Protect Stranded Passengers


Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Naziru Bello Kankarofi, has reaffirmed the Command's readiness to safeguard the lives and property in the State.


He stated this while conducting an on‑the‑spot assessment of the derailed train at Adogo, Ajaokuta local government area of Kogi State.

Cp Kankarofi who met with the Nigerian Railway Corporation management and stranded passengers at the site, describes the incident as unfortunate. He ordered immediate deployment of security personnel to safeguard the people and facilities while monitoring the evacuation of all passengers to Ajaokuta station.

A statement by the Commands Public Relations Officer, CSP William Aya says the CP at the site also deployed additional security to secure the derailed coaches, expressing his determination to work in synergy with other security agencies to protect lives and property across the State.
