 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  Makatu Man Arrested for Brutal Murder of Girlfriend and Attempted Murder of Her Daughter 


South Africa: A 48-year-old male suspect is expected to appear before the Dzanani Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 05 November 2025, in connection with the brutal murder of his 47-year-old girlfriend and the attempted murder of her 16-year-old daughter at Makatu Village in the Siloam policing area under the Vhembe District. The incident occurred on Monday morning, 03 November 2025.  


The suspect was swiftly arrested on Tuesday, 04 November 2025, at Biaba in Makhado during a joint operation conducted by members of the Siloam Detectives and Makhado Police, following intelligence received about his whereabouts.  


It is alleged that the suspect forcefully entered the home of his girlfriend while she was asleep with her children. According to information, the 16-year-old girl woke up to her younger sister’s screams and found her mother being attacked by the suspect, who was known to them. When she tried to intervene, the suspect allegedly stabbed her several times before fleeing the scene.  


Police were called to the scene and discovered the lifeless body of the 47-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds. Her daughter was rushed to a local hospital where she is receiving medical treatment.  


Further investigation revealed that the suspect is a repeat offender, and police investigations are continuing.
