 Sudan war: Army says it inflicts heavy losses on RSF in Darfur, Kordofan Sudan’s army on Friday said that it inflicted heavy losses on the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) during a series of air and ground operations carried out over the past week in the Darfur and Kordofan regions. In a statement, the military said its forces conducted strikes against RSF positions, destroying around 240 combat vehicles and killing hundreds of fighters, Anadolu Agency reported. The army said the operations also targeted what it described as RSF logistical and operational facilities, including drone-related sites and storage areas, as well as locations at Nyala Airport in South Darfur. It added that ground forces had succeeded in pushing RSF fighters out of wide areas in both Darfur and Kordofan, and that operations were ongoing to pursue remaining elements.  MAKURDI FAMILY RAISES ALARM AS ELDERLY WOMAN GOES MISSING


 

A family in Makurdi is calling for the public’s help after an elderly woman went missing, prompting growing concern among relatives and neighbours.


Miss Mercy Ameh announced that her big aunty whom she also regards as her mother has been missing and may be wandering around parts of the city. The woman, who is Igala by tribe, can communicate in several languages, including Igala, Idoma, English, Igbo, and Yoruba.


Residents in and around the Kashio Yaikor and Welfare Quarters areas are urged to stay alert. Anyone who spots an elderly woman who appears lost or disoriented is encouraged to reach out immediately for identification and assistance.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
