Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing. Makurdi was thrown into confusion today after a young man was reportedly stabbed to death by a woman during a domestic dispute. The incident, shared online by Linda Tarkighir, quickly sparked outrage and debate across social media.


According to the account, the confrontation began after the deceased allegedly asked the woman to help purchase some cooking items. What followed remains unclear, but the situation escalated sharply, ending in a fatal stabbing that has left family, friends, and residents in deep grief.


“This is the girl that stabbed my brother to death… just because they asked her to get cooking items? Wow. So this is not a dream? God,” a devastated relative wrote, struggling to process the tragedy.


The shocking nature of the incident has fueled a wave of reactions online, with many calling for a thorough investigation and justice for the victim.
