 ASUU–ABSU SUSPENDS THREE-WEEK-OLD INDEFINITE STRIKE The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Abia State University Branch, wishes to inform the University community, all stakeholders and the general public that, following the resolution of Congress held today, Friday, 28th August, 2026, the Branch has suspended its three-week-old comprehensive industrial action with immediate effect. The decision of Congress followed a careful assessment of developments since the commencement of the strike and, particularly, the concrete steps taken towards addressing some of the major issues that necessitated the industrial action. Foremost among these is the full implementation of the 2025 FGN–ASUU salary structure, including the Consolidated Academic Tools Allowance (CATA), which has now been reflected in the August 2026 salaries of academic staff of Abia State University.  Man Shot Dead While Working on Stolen Car in Philippi


A young man was shot and killed on Sunday morning while working on a car at the corner of Stock Road and Govan Mbeki Drive, near the BP garage in Philippi, Cape Town.


According to witnesses, the man was busy checking the engine with the bonnet open when another man approached and shot him in the head. He died on the scene.


Another person who was nearby was also injured during the shooting and was taken to hospital for treatment.


Police later discovered that the car the victim was fixing had been stolen. It is believed that the man who was killed may have been involved in the theft of the vehicle.


Authorities are investigating the incident. The motive for the shooting has not yet been confirmed, and no arrests have been made.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
