 DELTA STATE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE ARREST OF SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS, GUN RUNNERS AND; RECOVERY OF TWO (2) AK-47 RIFLES, AND THIRTY-SIX (36) ROUNDS OF LIVE AMMUNITION The Delta State Police Command has recorded another major breakthrough in an intelligence-led operations targeting suspected kidnappers and illegal arms trafficking syndicate within and beyond the State. 1. ARREST OF FIVE SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS/ RECOVERY OF ONE AK-47 RIFLE AND THIRTY-SIX (36) ROUNDS OF 7.62MM LIVE AMMUNITION: On 24 April 2026 at about 1830hrs, operatives of the command's tactical team based in Ughelli, acting on credible intelligence arrested one Ahmadu Usman (m), 22, a native of Lafiya, Nasarawa State, at Ekuigbo area of Ughelli in connection with a kidnapping syndicate terrorising commuters along Ughelli–Warri Road.  ‎Nasir El-Rufai officially joins ADC

‎Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress, months after leaving the All Progressives Congress.

‎

‎It was gathered that the former governor registered with the ADC and collected his membership card at the party office in U/Sarki Ward, Kaduna State.


‎The former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory cited a widening disconnect between his personal values and the current direction of the APC as the primary reason for his defection.

‎

‎In his resignation letter, El-Rufai openly criticised the APC’s leadership, accusing the party of abandoning the progressive ideals upon which it was founded.


‎El-Rufai, who was instrumental in the 2013 merger of opposition parties that led to the formation of the APC, lamented that the APC had lost its original vision.
