 New UK Prime Minister not the leader Britain needs — Kemi Badenoch UK Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch, has congratulated Andy Burnham on becoming Britain’s new prime minister but said while he is “a nice man,” the country needs a leader capable of making difficult decisions rather than “a people pleaser.” In a statement released on Monday on X following Burnham’s assumption of office, Badenoch wished the new prime minister success but vowed to hold his government accountable as Leader of the Opposition. “Today, Britain has a new Prime Minister. I wish Andy Burnham every success. Because we need a Prime Minister and a Government focused on fixing the public’s priorities,” she said. NFF apologises to Tinubu, Nigerians for failing to qualify for the 2026 World Cup


The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has tendered a heartfelt apology to President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian citizens following the Super Eagles’ Sunday defeat and disqualification in the World Cup Qualifiers Playoff against DR Congo. 


DR Congo came back from a goal down to beat Nigeria 4-3 on penalties in a tightly-contested African play-offs final on Sunday, November 16, to pick Africa’s sole ticket for the intercontinental play-offs billed for March next year.


In a statement shared on X, NFF described the defeat as a moment of profound sadness for Nigerian football.  But vowed to reclaim Nigeria’s standing on the global stage.
