 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable.  Night False Alarm Created Panic At GGC Maiduguri; Government Assures High Security Protection 


A false alarm raised late Monday night by students of Government Girls College Maiduguri, Borno State caused widespread panic after claims circulated that unknown gunmen had invaded the school’s hostel. 


Borno state government  and security operatives swiftly intervened, confirming that no gunmen were present and that the alarm was unfounded.


Commissioner of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Lawan Abba Wakilbe, confirmed that the situation was a false alarm and urged students, parents, and the public to remain calm, assuring that strengthened security measures have now been put in place across the school.


Similarly, the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO, ASP Kenneth Nahum Daso, corroborated the Commissioner’s statement, emphasizing that officers have been deployed to the school premises to maintain peace and prevent a recurrence.
