A PRIEST IN ANAMBRA STATE WEDDED A COUPLE YESTERDAY, DESPITE DISPUTES WITH THE BRIDE’S FATHER. (PHOTOS).
Officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department received a call about a child not breathing at 11:37 p.m. on November 18th.
When officers arrived on the scene and discovered a 2-year-old girl suffering from extensive injuries, they realized the initial call was misleading.
As police began to investigate, it became shockingly clear that this young girl had been viciously attacked by the family dog. Responding officers noted that the parents were uncooperative with officers following the attack.
The child has been identified as Locklynn McGuire. She was pronounced deceased on the scene. According to official police reports, Locklynn had been locked in a room with the family's pitbull.
Police say the door had a double-sided toddler lock that prevented Locklynn from escaping as the dog fatally mauled her.
What makes this all even more appalling and senseless, is the fact that this was not the first time the dog had been aggressive with little Locklynn.
According to police reports, the very same dog attacked this young girl on November 6th.
Locklynn required plastic surgery on her ear in the wake of the first attack due to her ear being mostly torn off.
Authorities say they were not notified of the first attack until after Locklynn had lost her life.
During the ensuing investigation, CSI and Animal Control removed four dogs from the home as well as a pet rat and two lizards.
This makes you wonder why the dog was still in the home and why the child was left in a vulnerable position around what was already known to be an aggressive dog.
The child's parents, Jordan McGuire and Darci Lambert, were both arrested on Friday, November 21st, in connection to the death of their daughter.
The couple were booked into the Oklahoma County Jail, where they are each being held on a one million dollar bond.
Our thoughts are with this girl's loved ones as they cope with this tragedy that could have easily been avoided.
