 Sudan war: Army says it inflicts heavy losses on RSF in Darfur, Kordofan Sudan’s army on Friday said that it inflicted heavy losses on the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) during a series of air and ground operations carried out over the past week in the Darfur and Kordofan regions. In a statement, the military said its forces conducted strikes against RSF positions, destroying around 240 combat vehicles and killing hundreds of fighters, Anadolu Agency reported. The army said the operations also targeted what it described as RSF logistical and operational facilities, including drone-related sites and storage areas, as well as locations at Nyala Airport in South Darfur. It added that ground forces had succeeded in pushing RSF fighters out of wide areas in both Darfur and Kordofan, and that operations were ongoing to pursue remaining elements. President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu I, on the 10th anniversary of his ascension to the throne of his forebears, which falls on November 16, 2025.

 

In a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information & Strategy, "President joins the sons and daughters of Iwoland, as well as friends and associates of the influential monarch, in celebrating this special occasion.

 

President Tinubu notes the tremendous impact and progressive streaks of Oluwo in the past decade of his ascension to the throne.

 

The President particularly highlights Oluwo's unwavering commitment to Yoruba cultural heritage and revival.

 

"Like him or hate him, you can hardly ignore his dynamism and leadership and the fact that his people deeply love him.

 

"I congratulate Oba Telu on this milestone. My thoughts are with him and the people of this great city at this moment," the President remarks.

 

President Tinubu wishes Oba Akanbi many more years on the throne and a continued life of impact.
