 PRESS RELEASE OPERATION HADIN KAI FOILS MASS ABDUCTION ATTEMPT AT FGGC MONGUNO Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Police Mobile Force (MOPOL), successfully foiled an attempted mass abduction by ISWAP terrorists at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Monguno, at about 0130 hours (1:30 a.m.) on 19 July 2026. The FGGC facility is currently being utilized by the Borno State Government as temporary hostel accommodation for students of the Federal Polytechnic, Monguno. The terrorists reportedly gained access to the facility with the assistance of suspected collaborators in an attempt to abduct students. Alert security personnel immediately engaged the terrorists with coordinated and overwhelming firepower, effectively stalling their advance with Sector 3 Quick Reaction Force (QRF) immediately reinforcing the school.  PRESIDENT TINUBU MOURNS JUSTICE MUKHTAR DODO


President Bola Tinubu has expressed grief over the passing of Justice Mukhtar Muhammad Dodo (rtd), who died on Sunday at the age of 70.

 In a statement Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, "the late jurist, who hailed from Katsina State, had a long and illustrious career in the Judiciary before his retirement.

 

He served as Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and later as a High Court judge of the Federal Capital Territory.

 

President Tinubu described the deceased as an upright judicial officer, a patriotic Nigerian and a fearless jurist who spent his life contributing to the strengthening of Nigeria’s judicial system.

 

The President while praying for the repose of the soul of the departed retired justice also prayed Allah to give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

 

The President also extended his commiseration to the government and people of Katsina State, as well as the Dodo family.
