 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Man fatally shot near cemetery at Ga-Dikgale


Police in Sebayeng have opened a case of murder and launched a manhunt for suspects following the fatal shooting of a 42-year-old man at Mmadiga Village, Ga-Dikgale, in the early hours of Sunday, 2 November 2025, at about 00:30.  


According to reports, police were alerted to a shooting incident and immediately proceeded to the scene. Upon arrival, no one was found. While still there, officers received another call indicating that the victim had been taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead from gunshot wounds.  


It is alleged that the deceased was walking with a companion near the cemetery when a vehicle stopped a few metres ahead of them. The occupants reportedly shouted insults, and when ignored, one of them fired a shot, fatally wounding the man before fleeing the scene.  


The motive for the shooting is still unknown. Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects and are appealing to anyone with information to contact the investigating officer, Constable Maropeng Malahlela, on 082 711 0667.
