 YOBE STATE GOVERNMENT APPROVES ENROLLMENT OF RETIREES INTO THE STATES HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT  Yobe state government has approved the enrollment of the state and local government retirees into the state  contributory  Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA) social equity programme, marking a significant milestone in the state's effort to strengthen social protection and expand access to quality healthcare .  Man fatally shot near cemetery at Ga-Dikgale


Police in Sebayeng have opened a case of murder and launched a manhunt for suspects following the fatal shooting of a 42-year-old man at Mmadiga Village, Ga-Dikgale, in the early hours of Sunday, 2 November 2025, at about 00:30.  


According to reports, police were alerted to a shooting incident and immediately proceeded to the scene. Upon arrival, no one was found. While still there, officers received another call indicating that the victim had been taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead from gunshot wounds.  


It is alleged that the deceased was walking with a companion near the cemetery when a vehicle stopped a few metres ahead of them. The occupants reportedly shouted insults, and when ignored, one of them fired a shot, fatally wounding the man before fleeing the scene.  


The motive for the shooting is still unknown. Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects and are appealing to anyone with information to contact the investigating officer, Constable Maropeng Malahlela, on 082 711 0667.
