 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail.  Uncle and Grandmother Arrested for Allegedly Poisoning Relative in Lemondokop Village


Police in Limpopo have arrested two suspects, aged 38 and 82, in connection with the murder of their 30-year-old male relative who was allegedly poisoned at Lemondokop Village on Tuesday, 28 October 2025.  


According to preliminary reports, the deceased had complained of severe stomach pains and dizziness before losing consciousness. He was declared dead inside an ambulance while being transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.  


Community members, dissatisfied with the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, reported their suspicions to the police on Friday, 31 October 2025. An inquest case was initially opened while detectives launched a thorough investigation.  


Investigations later revealed that the deceased’s uncle and grandmother were allegedly responsible for poisoning him. Both suspects were traced and arrested. The inquest docket has since been converted to a murder case, and a post-mortem will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.  


The suspects are expected to appear before the Kgapane Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 04 November 2025, facing charges of murder.
