 Three de-ad, four coaches affected as Warri-Itakpe train derails The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has confirmed the d3ath of three persons following the derailment of the Warri-Itakpe train in Agbor, Delta State. The Corporation added that four coaches left the rail track during the incident which occurred on Monday, June 8, 2026. The Managing Director of NRC, Dr. Kayode Opeifa, said in a statement that the emergency response team and other relevant authorities are currently managing the situation and providing necessary assistance. “The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has confirmed a serious train accident involving the Warri–Itakpe Train Service (WITS) corridor at Agbor, Delta State,” the statement read. “Rescue and emergency response operations were immediately activated.  SECURITY IN ANAMBRA: POLICE ARRESTS ARMED SUSPECTED SECESSIONIST MEMBER IN IHIALA


As CP Orutugu Orders Heightened Security Surveillance and Raid Operations Across the State


The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a suspected member of a proscribed Secessionists Group following an early morning intelligence-led operation on 20th November 2025, as Police operatives attached to Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu apprehended one Friday Nnamdi Anyikame, male, 25 years, in Ihiala and recovered 2 (two) pump-action firearms and 29 (twenty-nine) live cartridges.


During interrogation, the suspect confessed to being an active member of an armed group and revealed that he operates from a criminal camp located in Ogbaru LGA.


The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc mnips Phd, while commending the operatives for their swift and coordinated response, has ordered an immediate intensification of security surveillance and targeted raid operations across the State. He further assured residents that the Command is already closing in on other fleeing members of the gang and is determined to dismantle their criminal network in Anambra.


The CP urges Ndi Anambra to remain vigilant and continue to support the Police with timely and actionable information that will aid ongoing security operations.
