 New UK Prime Minister not the leader Britain needs — Kemi Badenoch UK Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch, has congratulated Andy Burnham on becoming Britain’s new prime minister but said while he is “a nice man,” the country needs a leader capable of making difficult decisions rather than “a people pleaser.” In a statement released on Monday on X following Burnham’s assumption of office, Badenoch wished the new prime minister success but vowed to hold his government accountable as Leader of the Opposition. “Today, Britain has a new Prime Minister. I wish Andy Burnham every success. Because we need a Prime Minister and a Government focused on fixing the public’s priorities,” she said.  Sheikh Gumi Returns To Nigeria, Denies Reports Of Fleeing To Turkey


Kaduna based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Mahmud Gumi has returned to Nigeria, dismissing reports that he fled to Turkey to evade arrest by the United States government.


In a statement shared on his social media page, Sheikh Gumi said:


"My sincere apology to haters. A sad news for them. I am back to Nigeria my beloved country, a country of free speech and freedom of religion, hearty and healthy. Thanks to Allah the Almighty. May Allah protect the whole nation from evil minds. Amin!"


The cleric’s return follows widespread speculation on social media that he had left the country amid alleged pressure from security agencies. Gumi, however, described the claims as false, reaffirming his loyalty to Nigeria and expressing gratitude for his safe return.
