McDonald’s launches World Cup meal and collectible cups ahead of 2026 FIFA tournament kickoff McDonald’s is launching limited-time World Cup meals and collectibles ahead of the FIFA tournament kickoff on June 11, as excitement builds for the expanded 48-team competition co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada. The fast-food chain, returning as an official tournament sponsor, will roll out its World Cup-themed menu nationwide starting June 4. Customers can choose between a Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets meal, both served with a special gold-packaged Big Mac Sauce. As part of the promotion, McDonald’s is also releasing collectible cups featuring nine global soccer stars and cultural icons. The lineup includes Christian Pulisic, David Beckham, Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, Son Heung-Min, Lamine Yamal, Alphonso Davies, Santiago Gimenez, and the brand’s mascot Grimace.  Soludo officially receives New UNIZIK VC, commends transparent selection process


The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has officially welcomed the new Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Prof. Bond Anyaehie, to the Government House, praising the transparent process that led to his appointment.


Governor Soludo, after reviewing the Vice Chancellor’s impressive credentials, affirmed that Prof. Anyaehie is well-positioned to lead the university to greater heights. He urged others interested in public service to emulate the transparency and integrity demonstrated in selecting UNIZIK’s seventh substantive Vice Chancellor.


Prof. Anyaehie, who received handover notes from the former Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Carol Arinze-Umobi, pledged to prioritize the welfare of both staff and students. He announced that all staff who have served for over five years would receive their November and December salaries ahead of the festive season.


The new VC also disclosed plans to commission the previously abandoned Vice Chancellor’s Lodge in the coming weeks.
