 APC PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL PRESS STATEMENT ATIKU MUST EXPLAIN THE LEGAL AND FISCAL BASIS OF HIS PETROL SUBSIDY PROPOSAL At his press conference in Abuja on Friday, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar reiterated his proposed  “production subsidy” for locally refined petrol, which he said would reduce pump prices. He went further to ask President Bola Tinubu to slash the cost of diesel and petrol at the pump. That proposal raises important legal, fiscal and practical questions that he must answer. Section 205(1) of the Petroleum Industry Act 2021 provides that unrestricted free-market conditions shall determine wholesale and retail prices of petroleum products. The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, in a statement on Saturday, explained that it neither fixes pump prices nor issues administrative price templates, except where the statutory conditions for intervention are met.  Teenage Girl Arrested for Pouring Hot Water on Woman During Jealous Rage in Denstaat Village 


A 17-year-old girl is expected to appear before the Senwabarwana Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 10 November 2025, facing a charge of attempted murder after she allegedly poured hot water on a 20-year-old woman and hit her with a bottle.


The incident occurred on Friday, 07 November 2025, at around 21:00 in Denstaat village under the Alldays policing area in the Capricorn District.


According to reports, the victim was asleep when the suspect woke her up and confronted her about photographs she allegedly found on her boyfriend’s cellphone. During the argument, the suspect allegedly poured hot water over the victim and struck her several times on the head and face with a bottle.


The victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police were called to the scene and opened a case of attempted murder. The suspect was arrested shortly thereafter.
