The Married at First Sight New Zealand family is mourning the sudden passing of beloved Season 1 groom Andrew Jury, who was just 33 years old.
Andrew was found unresponsive in his cell at Mt Eden Corrections Facility on June 27, 2024, only hours before a scheduled court appearance. Despite immediate efforts to help him, he could not be revived. Authorities have stated the circumstances are not being treated as suspicious.
His heartbroken co-stars Brett and Angel Renall, and Benjamin Blackwell shared the devastating news with fans, remembering Andrew as the life of every gathering—always friendly, outgoing, and full of energy. They wrote, “It’s with the heaviest hearts we’ve ever felt that our brother passed away… He will be deeply missed.”
Andrew appeared on the very first season of MAFS NZ in 2017, where he was matched with Vicky Gleeson-Stokes. The couple stayed together until the end of the experiment but later went their separate ways.
His sudden passing has left family, friends, and fans in shock. Many are sharing fond memories and sending love and strength to everyone affected during this incredibly difficult time.
Rest in peace, Andrew. You brought light to so many lives and will never be forgotten. 🕊️
