 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary.  Convicted mushroom killer Erin Patterson appeals verdict in Australian court

Erin Patterson, the Australian woman convicted of killing her estranged husband’s parents and aunt with a meal containing toxic mushrooms, has formally filed an appeal against her murder conviction.

Patterson, 51, was sentenced in September in Victoria to three life terms plus 25 years for murder and attempted murder after being found guilty of using deadly death cap mushrooms in the fatal dinner. While filing an appeal is not automatic under Australian law, prosecutors last month noted a pending challenge on the grounds that “the sentence handed down to Erin Patterson is manifestly inadequate.” On Monday, Patterson’s legal team officially lodged the appeal, though the specific arguments behind it have not yet been revealed.
