 A popular content creator has died from surgery complication     Esther Thomas, popularly known as Sunshine, was a Nigerian content creator, skit maker, and brand influencer. She died on Friday, 9 January 2026, after complications from fibroid surgery. She had been complaining of serious stomach pain from late December 2025.     Sunshine was first admitted at Orchid General Hospital in Lagos, where her friends said she was only given pain relief drugs because doctors were on strike. Her condition did not improve, so she was moved to another hospital on 2 January 2026, where tests showed she had a large fibroid and surgery was carried out. She later developed complications and died. After her death, friends blamed Orchid General Hospital online, saying she was neglected and did not receive proper treatment early enough.  Blake Lively seeks $161 million in damages in lawsuit against Justin Baldoni

Blake Lively is seeking $161 million in damages, claiming she suffered massive financial losses due to Justin Baldoni’s alleged smear campaign.

Court filings state that Lively lost $56.2 million in earnings from acting, producing, speaking engagements, and endorsements. Her lawyers also say her haircare brand, Blake Brown, suffered $49 million in losses, while her beverage company, Betty Buzz/Betty Booze, lost $22 million. Additionally, they claim her reputation took a $34 million hit after 65 million negative social media impressions circulated about her.

Lively and Baldoni are scheduled to face trial in March after she sued him, alleging sexual harassment on the set of their 2024 film It Ends With Us and a subsequent campaign of online smears. Baldoni had countersued, claiming $400 million in damages for defamation, but that claim was dismissed in June when a judge ruled he could not sue over statements made in a legal filing.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
