 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  Winning World Cup playoffs will fuel Super Eagles’ AFCON ambition – Chelle


Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, insists that winning the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs will inspire the team to pursue a fourth title at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The West Africans are preparing for the playoffs, which will commence in Morocco next Thursday.

The Super Eagles will then shift their attention to the AFCON after the mini-tournament.

Chelle believes that success in the playoffs will propel his team towards achieving their ultimate goal in Morocco.

“Before AFCON, there’s a crucial target: the World Cup play-offs. The goal is to win those matches,” Chelle told cafonline.

“If we arrive on the back of play-off success, stopping us will be difficult.”

The Super Eagles have been drawn against Tunisia, Tanzania, and Uganda in Group C at the AFCON.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
