 LAWMA SEALS PREMISES ON AGO PALACE WAY, ARRESTS 11 DUMPERS ON LAGOS ISLAND … Intensifies Enforcement Against Illegal Waste Disposal In renewed enforcement efforts, the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has sealed premises identified for persistent illegal waste dumping along Ago Palace Way and arrested 11 persons for illegal waste disposal in various parts of Lagos Island. The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of LAWMA, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, said that the enforcement operations underscored the Authority’s resolve to enforce existing waste management regulations and ensure compliance with approved waste disposal practices across Lagos. He explained that the Ago Palace Way operation covered plazas, hotels, lounges and warehouses along the corridor, as part of efforts to tackle activities contributing to waste build-up and environmental nuisance on road setbacks, medians and other unauthorised public spaces.  Winning World Cup playoffs will fuel Super Eagles’ AFCON ambition – Chelle


Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, insists that winning the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs will inspire the team to pursue a fourth title at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The West Africans are preparing for the playoffs, which will commence in Morocco next Thursday.

The Super Eagles will then shift their attention to the AFCON after the mini-tournament.

Chelle believes that success in the playoffs will propel his team towards achieving their ultimate goal in Morocco.

“Before AFCON, there’s a crucial target: the World Cup play-offs. The goal is to win those matches,” Chelle told cafonline.

“If we arrive on the back of play-off success, stopping us will be difficult.”

The Super Eagles have been drawn against Tunisia, Tanzania, and Uganda in Group C at the AFCON.
