YET ANOTHER STUDENT HAS LOST HIS LIFE AFTER BEING STRUCK BY A SCHOOL BUS IN ROCKLAND, MAINE.(PHOTO).

Yet another student has lost his life after being struck by a school bus in Rockland, Maine.

This sad incident is just one more casualty in the growing trend of students being struck by school busses. Over 6 students have lost their lives since late 2024 due to being struck by school busses.

The most recent fatality occurred on Friday, November 21st, in Rockland, Maine.

According to reports, the 12-year-old boy had just been dropped off on Broadway at the intersection of Eliza Steele Drive. After exiting the bus, the driver identified as Jeff Colburn, began to take off. As he was driving away, he struck the 12-year-old student.

The bus was full of students from Oceanside Middle School. One student who was on the bus at the time described "hearing a loud thump, and then everyone began screaming".

Two good samaritans who live on Eliza Steele Drive witnessed the incident. The two say that directly following the boy being struck that no one was doing anything. This prompted the two to rush to the child and begin CPR.

First responders arrived a short time later, and the boy was rushed to a nearby hospital. The boy was later life-flighted to a different hospital. Sadly, despite extensive efforts to save this young boy's life, he succumbed to his injuries.

The incident is under investigation with the Maine State Police Commercial Vehicle and Crash Reconstruction units assisting in the investigation.

Our thoughts are with this young boy and all of his loved ones. Our thoughts are also with everyone on the bus who had to witness.
