 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  14-YEAR-OLD KIDNAP VICTIM RESCUED IN BENUE



In a dramatic rescue operation, personnel of the Benue State Civil Protection Guards freed a 14-year-old boy from suspected kidnappers during a routine patrol on the Oweto-Otukpo road in Agatu Local Government Area (LGA) on Friday, November 29, 2025.  


Around 7:45 p.m., the security team intercepted a suspicious vehicle. On sighting the patrol, the abductors abandoned the boy at Egla, Agatu LGA, and fled into the night.  


The victim, identified as Daniel, son of Michael and Rebecca, was immediately taken to the Civil Protection Guards’ office in Obagaji, Agatu LGA, where he received medical care. Authorities confirmed that he is now in stable condition.  


During questioning the following morning, Daniel revealed key details about himself:  


- Full Name: Daniel  

- Age: 14  

- School: Contract Secondary School, Mararaba, Nasarawa State  

- Class: JSS 2  

- Residence: Mararaba Sharp Corner, Nasarawa State  

- Tribe: Idoma  


The boy explained that he does not know his parents’ phone numbers. He has since been handed over to the Nigerian Police at Obagaji for further investigation and efforts to reunite him with his family.  


Authorities are appealing to residents of Nasarawa and Benue States to circulate this information widely so that Daniel’s parents or guardians can be located quickly.
