 YOBE STATE GOVERNMENT APPROVES ENROLLMENT OF RETIREES INTO THE STATES HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT  Yobe state government has approved the enrollment of the state and local government retirees into the state  contributory  Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA) social equity programme, marking a significant milestone in the state's effort to strengthen social protection and expand access to quality healthcare .  40-Year-Old Arrested in Lephalale for Alleged Drug Dealing


A 40-year-old foreign national is expected to appear in the Lephalale Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 1 December 2025, on charges of dealing in drugs.


The suspect was arrested during an intelligence-driven operation carried out by members of the Organised Crime Investigation and Narcotics Unit.


According to police, on Friday, 28 November 2025 at around 07:30, officers received information about a man suspected of selling drugs in the Lephalale area. The information was followed up, and during observation, police noticed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s car.


When the driver spotted the police, he allegedly sped off. Officers gave chase and managed to stop the vehicle. A search was conducted, and police recovered a plastic bag containing substances believed to be heroin and crystal meth, with an estimated street value of more than R15 000.


The suspect was arrested on the scene. He is scheduled to appear before the Lephalale Magistrate’s Court on Monday to face charges of dealing in drugs.
