Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. A NAVY VET ON HIS WAY TO FRIENDS FOR CHRISTMAS EVE WAS FOUND DEAD INSIDE OF HIS CAR ON CHRISTMAS DAY.(PHOTO).

A Navy vet on his way to friends for Christmas Eve was found deceased inside of his car on Christmas day.

68-year-old Robert Hiller climbed into his blue Toyota Yaris on Christmas Eve, excited to meet up with friends. When he failed to show up that evening and his family had still not heard from him on Christmas Day, a missing persons report was filed.

Sadly, air rescue crews would spot his vehicle partially submerged at 9:45 a.m. on Christmas Day. Robert was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Robert was swept away, along with his vehicle, while on his way to meet with his friends. According to a witness who was driving behind Robert, he had tried to warn him.

Tim Swain says, "I see the waters, and I see him driving into it, and I'm flashing my headlights and high beams, like, No!"

Swain was forced to helplessly watch as Robert was swept away by the raging floodwaters. He said he got out of his car to try to locate Robert but unfortunately he could not find him.

Our thoughts are with the family of Robert Hiller. Please use extreme caution in floodwaters.
