 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment. A NAVY VET ON HIS WAY TO FRIENDS FOR CHRISTMAS EVE WAS FOUND DEAD INSIDE OF HIS CAR ON CHRISTMAS DAY.(PHOTO).

 A Navy vet on his way to friends for Christmas Eve was found deceased inside of his car on Christmas day.


68-year-old Robert Hiller climbed into his blue Toyota Yaris on Christmas Eve, excited to meet up with friends. When he failed to show up that evening and his family had still not heard from him on Christmas Day, a missing persons report was filed.


Sadly, air rescue crews would spot his vehicle partially submerged at 9:45 a.m. on Christmas Day. Robert was pronounced deceased on the scene.


Robert was swept away, along with his vehicle, while on his way to meet with his friends. According to a witness who was driving behind Robert, he had tried to warn him.


Tim Swain says, "I see the waters, and I see him driving into it, and I'm flashing my headlights and high beams, like, No!"


Swain was forced to helplessly watch as Robert was swept away by the raging floodwaters. He said he got out of his car to try to locate Robert but unfortunately he could not find him.
