 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  Anambra Football Association announces date for local football councils’ election


The Executive Committee of the Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA) has approved December 17 and 18, 2025, as official dates for elections into the Local Football Councils (LFCs) and to fill existing vacancies on the State FA Board.


The decisions were reached during the committee’s virtual meeting held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.


In its resolutions contained in a communiqué signed by Mr Ralph Chidozie George (Chairman) and Mr Ralph Nweke (Secretary), the Board congratulated Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo and Deputy Governor Onyekachukwu Ibezim on their re-election, expressing appreciation for their continued support for football development in the state.


The committee also reviewed the expiration of the tenure of Local Football Councils and noted four unfilled positions on the State FA Board.


It resolved to conduct the required elections in line with directives from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).


The Board further affirmed the earlier appointment of members of the Electoral and Appeals Committees that will oversee the election process.


Those appointed to be part of electoral committee are Barr. Uche Okeke (Chairman), Barr. Obi Ebosie (Member), Barr. Chidozie Ogbuefi (Member), Hon. Francis Agbatta (Member) and Hon. Lawrence Nwekwe (Member).


The Appeals Committee consists of Barr. Ugochukwu Adilieje (Chairman), Mr. Chiadi Obidi (Member) and Barr. Cyril Ezimaka (Member).


Those present at the meeting included Chairman Chief Chikelue Iloenyosi, Vice Chairman Chief Victor Aniekwena, Mrs. Cordelia Akanna, Mr. Ralph Chidozie George, and Acting Secretary Mr. Ralph Nweke.
