 Guinea-Bissau stops vaccine study funded by Trump administration Guinea-Bissau's foreign minister has said his government has stopped a study funded by the Trump administration aiming to evaluate side effects of the life-saving hepatitis B vaccine, including any links to autism. The West African country, one of the region's poorest, has high rates of hepatitis B, and the prospective study had drawn an outcry from scientists and international health bodies because only half the newborns in the trial would get the vaccine at birth. World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus said it was not ethical. Guinea-Bissau last month suspended the trial pending an ethical review. Critics had said it was being used to test theories linking vaccines to autism, long promoted by U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr but contradicted by scientific evidence.  Anderson Cooper inks new deal to remain at CNN 

Anderson Cooper has signed a new contract to remain with CNN, ensuring his continued presence across the network’s programming.

Cooper hosts the nightly Anderson Cooper 360, the weekly newsmagazine The Whole Story, and the podcast and streaming series All There Is. He also anchors major events, including election night coverage and the network’s annual New Year’s Eve special. Cooper joined CNN in 2001 and launched AC 360 two years later. He also serves as a correspondent for 60 Minutes.

The renewal comes amid industry-wide efforts to reduce costs as audiences shift from traditional cable to streaming platforms. CNN has been emphasizing integration of its linear programming with digital and streaming offerings. The network recently introduced a subscription streaming service that provides on-demand programming, a 24/7 live feed, and exclusive content.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
