NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did.  ARTMA Launches "Operation Zero Road Traffic" As Festive Travels Begin

The Anambra State Road Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA) has launched what it termed “Operation Zero Road Traffic” across the state, marking the commencement of an intensified effort to ensure smooth vehicular movements throughout the state especially as festive travels begin.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony at ARTMA headquarters Awka, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ARTMA, Engr. Okonkwo Emeka-Konti, said the essence of the operation was to ensure that traffic officers were on ground to make sure that there were free flow of vehicular movements devoid of gridlocks.

The ARTMA boss also stated that it was necessary to advise road users to obey traffic signs across Anambra State because the governor Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has overhauled as well as installed new traffic lights across all junctions; that it is very important that the traffic lights must be obeyed to avoid infractions.

He therefore emphasized that there would be no room for pardon in the event of non-compliance as vehicles impounded would remain in the ARTMA premises all through the festive period. He said government insisted on strict adherence to road signs and rules because roads in Anambra State must be free this yuletide season.

Okonkwo who maintained that strict compliance to traffic rules and regulations were the only ways the Operation Zero Road Traffic would be achieved this busy festive season, wished all residents and visitors Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year while encouraging them to enjoy the festive season responsibly and also adhere strictly to traffic rules.
