Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu has been honoured with her 11th chieftaincy title in Igboland following a grand traditional ceremony held at the Igu Aro Cultural Festival.
The development was announced via her verified Instagram page, where she shared photos and videos from the colourful event. According to her post, the chieftaincy title was conferred by His Majesty, Obi Austin Chukwuezugo Ndigwe (MON), during the prestigious cultural festival.
Bianca Ojukwu revealed that the event celebrated the richness of Igbo culture, featuring traditional music, dances, masquerades, and other heritage displays. She noted that the festival attracted a mammoth crowd, with dignitaries from far and wide in attendance.
She was bestowed with the chieftaincy title “Anyanwu N’Awalu Ora”, which translates to “The Light of the Community”. She explained that Anyanwu represents the Sun Goddess in Igbo traditional religion, Odinani, symbolising light, wisdom, knowledge, and good fortune. As part of the traditional rites, Bianca Ojukwu was also presented with the ceremonial key to the Ancient Kingdom, signifying honour, trust, and acceptance by the traditional institution.
Expressing gratitude, she thanked His Majesty, the supreme commander of the Awka Ancient Kingdom, the ndu ichie (kingmakers), the youths, and the people of the kingdom for the honour. She added that the love and respect shown to her by both the host community and the wider Igbo nation would never be taken for granted.
Photos shared on her page showed Bianca Ojukwu elegantly dressed in traditional Igbo attire, adorned with coral beads, as she participated in the cultural rites marking the historic occasion
