 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment.  Domestic Dispute Turns Deadly as Woman Killed, Suspect Also Dies Following Community Attack 


 A 38-year-old woman was killed following an alleged domestic dispute involving her 40-year-old boyfriend on 26 December 2025 at about 16h30 pm at Tjibeng village. It is reported that the woman had locked herself inside the house, fearing for her safety.


 The suspect allegedly gained entry after convincing a family member that he only wanted to speak to her. Shortly after, the suspect was seen fleeing the scene carrying a knife.


 The woman was found critically injured and was declared dead at the scene by emergency services. The victim’s brother later located the suspect and attempted to apprehend him. During the confrontation, the brother was stabbed and sustained injuries.


 The suspect was later attacked by community members near a tavern and sustained severe injuries. Emergency medical services were called, and the suspect was certified dead at the scene.
