 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity.  Domestic Dispute Turns Deadly as Woman Killed, Suspect Also Dies Following Community Attack 


 A 38-year-old woman was killed following an alleged domestic dispute involving her 40-year-old boyfriend on 26 December 2025 at about 16h30 pm at Tjibeng village. It is reported that the woman had locked herself inside the house, fearing for her safety.


 The suspect allegedly gained entry after convincing a family member that he only wanted to speak to her. Shortly after, the suspect was seen fleeing the scene carrying a knife.


 The woman was found critically injured and was declared dead at the scene by emergency services. The victim’s brother later located the suspect and attempted to apprehend him. During the confrontation, the brother was stabbed and sustained injuries.


 The suspect was later attacked by community members near a tavern and sustained severe injuries. Emergency medical services were called, and the suspect was certified dead at the scene.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
