 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Former Los Angeles Laker and NBA champion Elden Campbell dies at 57

Elden Campbell, a former Los Angeles Lakers center and key player during the 1990s, has died at the age of 57. The cause of death has not been disclosed.

Standing 6-foot-11, Campbell spent 15 seasons in the NBA, with the majority of his career in Los Angeles after being drafted by the Lakers in the first round of the 1990 draft. During his time in L.A., he played alongside legends Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant and became a dependable contributor, averaging nearly 15 points per game in the 1996-97 season.

Campbell was traded to the Charlotte Hornets in 1999, where he continued to put up strong numbers. Later in his career, he won an NBA championship with the Detroit Pistons in 2004, ironically defeating his former team, the Lakers, in the Finals. He also played for the New Orleans Hornets, Seattle SuperSonics, and New Jersey Nets before retiring from professional basketball.
