Former Los Angeles Laker and NBA champion Elden Campbell dies at 57

Elden Campbell, a former Los Angeles Lakers center and key player during the 1990s, has died at the age of 57. The cause of death has not been disclosed.

Standing 6-foot-11, Campbell spent 15 seasons in the NBA, with the majority of his career in Los Angeles after being drafted by the Lakers in the first round of the 1990 draft. During his time in L.A., he played alongside legends Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant and became a dependable contributor, averaging nearly 15 points per game in the 1996-97 season.

He also played for the New Orleans Hornets, Seattle SuperSonics, and New Jersey Nets before retiring from professional basketball.
