 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment.  Gaza's small Christian community is embracing the holiday spirit this Christmas, marking their first in years with a sense of calm amid the ongoing ceasefire. 

Families are gathering at the Holy Family Church in Gaza City, decorating Christmas trees, singing hymns in Arabic, and sharing simple joys like baking pastries and distributing warm clothing for the winter.


Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, visited the parish recently, leading a special Mass where he baptized a baby and celebrated first communions for children. The community, though reduced in numbers, is finding moments of hope and togetherness through faith and modest traditions.These scenes reflect resilience and a shared wish for lasting peace during this festive season.
