 Somali PM calls on Somaliland to cut Israel ties, urges reconciliation Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has called on Somaliland’s leadership to cut ties with Israel and to resolve disputes with the federal government through dialogue. Barre said relations among Somalis should be addressed through talks rather than confrontation, in remarks during a ceremony to mark the first anniversary of the establishment of North East State. In December 2025, Israel announced mutual recognition with Somaliland, a move strongly rejected by the Somali government as a breach of its sovereignty and territorial integrity and criticised by many countries across the world. “Regarding our brothers in Somaliland, I have nothing new to say.  GBOKO WOMAN STRANDED IN LAGOS AS FRIEND GOES SILENT AFTER ARRIVAL 



A young woman from Gboko, Benue State, has been left stranded in Lagos after travelling to visit a friend who allegedly stopped responding to her calls shortly after her arrival.


The lady reportedly arrived at Flight Park, Lagos, only to discover that her host had become unreachable, leaving her without accommodation or immediate support.


Eyewitnesses said she has remained at the park in a distressed state, crying and confused about her next step. The transport fare back to Benue State is estimated at ₦38,000, which she is unable to afford.


The development has drawn public concern, highlighting the dangers of travel arrangements built solely on trust. Concerned persons are calling for assistance to help the stranded woman return home safely.
