 A popular content creator has died from surgery complication     Esther Thomas, popularly known as Sunshine, was a Nigerian content creator, skit maker, and brand influencer. She died on Friday, 9 January 2026, after complications from fibroid surgery. She had been complaining of serious stomach pain from late December 2025.     Sunshine was first admitted at Orchid General Hospital in Lagos, where her friends said she was only given pain relief drugs because doctors were on strike. Her condition did not improve, so she was moved to another hospital on 2 January 2026, where tests showed she had a large fibroid and surgery was carried out. She later developed complications and died. After her death, friends blamed Orchid General Hospital online, saying she was neglected and did not receive proper treatment early enough.  Girlfriend Arrested After Boyfriend’s Body Found Buried in Shallow Grave


Police in Tzaneen have made a significant breakthrough in a shocking murder case at Morutji Village, Bolobedu South, with the arrest of a 31-year-old woman believed to be behind the killing of her boyfriend.


The victim, identified as Isaiah Thomas Maphalle (42), was reported to have been killed and later buried in a shallow grave behind his home. Police were alerted after community members raised concerns, leading to the discovery of the body. It is alleged that the victim’s remains were found wrapped in a maize meal bag.


A swift investigation led officers to the deceased’s girlfriend, who was arrested on Thursday, 04 December 2025.


The motive behind the killing is not yet known and remains the subject of ongoing police investigations.


The suspect is expected to appear before the Tzaneen Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 08 December 2025, facing a charge of murder.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
