 Military judge suppresses Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s FBI confession in 9/11 case A military judge has excluded a confession that alleged Sept. 11 attacks mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed gave to FBI agents nearly 20 years ago, ruling that the statements were not made voluntarily. The decision is a setback for the U.S. government's long-running effort to prosecute Mohammed, who is accused of helping develop the plot to hijack planes and crash them into the World Trade Center and Pentagon. Mohammed remains detained at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, alongside other defendants awaiting trial. Lt. Col. Michael Schrama, the judge overseeing the case, scheduled a June 2028 trial for Mohammed and three other defendants earlier this week. The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated renowned and award-winning journalist, Mr Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, on his new appointment as the Director of News of Television Continental (TVC).  


 

He described Kolade-Otitoju's appointment as deserving, considering his experience, commitment and long years of service in the media industry, particularly at TVC.


 

Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Gboyega Akosile, said Kolade-Otitoju, as an award-winning journalist and seasoned media practitioner with over 30 years of experience in the sector, has what it takes to deliver effectively in his new assignment.


 

He said: “On behalf of my family, the government and the people of Lagos State, I congratulate Mr Babajide Kolade-Otitoju on his new appointment as the Director of News of TVC. The appointment is well deserved based on his hard work and commitment to the media organisation.


 

"BKO, as Babajide Kolade-Otitoju is fondly called, is an inspiration and role model to many journalists, both in the print and broadcast media, especially members of staff of TVC Communications, where he has made positive impacts for many years.


 

“I believe that his appointment is well deserving, having proved his mettle in the pen pushing profession, with a proven track record of excellence in journalism.
