 POLICE REFORMS: IGP DISU RESTRUCTURES MONITORING UNIT, APPOINTS DCP ALIYU ABUBAKAR AS HEAD OF THE UNIT The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, has approved the comprehensive restructuring of the Police Monitoring Unit as part of ongoing institutional reforms aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness, strengthening internal oversight, and reinforcing discipline across the Nigeria Police Force. The restructuring is necessitated by the need to refocus the Unit on its core mandate, address identified operational inefficiencies, and reposition it as a credible and effective internal accountability mechanism within the Force. As part of the reorganisation, the Unit has been streamlined and strengthened to enhance proactive monitoring, intelligence-driven inspections, and real-time oversight of police personnel and operations across Commands, Formations, and Departments.  GOVERNOR UBA SANI CONGRATULATES CHRISTOPHER MUSA


 The Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for nominating General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd), a son of the State, as Minister of Defence. 


The Governor, in a press statement, says the nomination from a leader who has shown sustained commitment to national security is a clear vote of confidence in General Musa’s record, capacity, and dedication to duty.


He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the gesture, noting that it is directed not only to General Musa as an officer of the Nigerian Army, but also to the people of Kaduna State, who hold him in high regard. 


Governor Uba Sani says the President’s action shows his recognition and reward for merit, and that the nomination strengthens the effort to improve the nation’s security framework at a time when the country has declared a state of emergency on insecurity.
