 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. Content creator/influencer VeryDarkMan (VDM) has disclosed that he personally initiated the chain of events that led to the arrest of activist Harrison Gwamnishu in Benin. According to VDM, he received calls immediately after the Auchi couple kidnapped incident and made further inquiries, which  confirmed that Gwamnishu had taken money meant for the ransom of those couple.


VDM stated that based on the information he obtained, he contacted the police, resulting in Gwamnishu’s arrest. He added that the activist is currently in police custody and has already returned the money in question.


Expressing strong disappointment, VDM explained that he initially considered overlooking the issue but changed his mind after seeing a video released by Gwamnishu, which he described as an attempt to “gaslight the public” and “manipulate everyone emotionally.”


He warned that once Gwamnishu is released, he expects him to publicly state the truth about what transpired in Auchi. If he fails to do so, VDM said he would personally reveal the full details.
