 TRAGIC LOSS OF NYSC CORPS MEMBER DURING ARMED ROBBERY INCIDENT IN DEI-DEI Headquarters Guards Brigade regrets the tragic loss of Mr. Abdulsamad Jamiu, a serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member  during a security incident in the early hours of 25 April 2026 at Shagari Estate, Dei-Dei, Abuja. The unfortunate incident occurred when troops of the Guards Brigade Quick Response Group, on routine night patrol, responded to a distress call following an armed robbery attack in the area. Upon arrival, the troops came under gunfire from the fleeing armed robbers, resulting in a brief but intense exchange. In the course of the engagement, Mr. Jamiu was caught in the crossfire. Despite efforts by troops to secure the area and preserve lives, he sadly succumbed to his injuries. This heartbreaking loss has cast a deep shadow over all personnel of the Guards Brigade.  Miley Cyrus engaged to Maxx Morando after almost four years together

Miley Cyrus and Maxx Morando are officially engaged, taking the next step after nearly four years together. The Grammy-winning singer and the drummer-producer have been a couple since 2021, first linked after being spotted backstage during Cyrus’s NBC special “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party” and publicly confirming their relationship the following spring.

The engagement was noticed after the couple attended the “Avatar: Fire and Ash” world premiere in Los Angeles on Dec. 1, where Cyrus was seen wearing a diamond ring on her left hand. The custom cushion-cut stone set on a 14-karat yellow gold band was designed by Jacquie Aiche. Morando’s father also appeared to celebrate the news on Instagram, posting “Congratulations!” and tagging the couple. Cyrus revealed in a 2023 British Vogue interview that they met on a blind date. Morando has been deeply involved in her music, playing drums on her album Endless Summer Vacation, producing tracks on Something Beautiful, and co-writing its title track. Cyrus previously referenced him as “my love” when accepting her 2024 Grammy for Record of the Year for “Flowers.” This engagement comes several years after Cyrus’ marriage to Liam Hemsworth, which ended in 2019.
