MISSING GIRL CASE TAKES NEW TURN AS WOMAN CLAIMS MOTHERHOOD

28th December, 2025

An update has emerged in the case of the young girl who reportedly missed her way in Makurdi, Benue State, with a woman coming forward in the early hours of Sunday to claim she is the child’s biological mother.

At about 2:30 a.m., Mrs. Doo Bridget Sombu contacted concerned parties, stating that the girl is her daughter. However, conflicting details have raised fresh questions.

While the girl identified herself as Anadoo Celina Mbuew, Mrs. Sombu said the child’s real name is Mimidoo Michelle Sombo. The girl also claimed her parents are based in Gboko, adding that she travelled from Gboko to Makurdi to visit her aunt, Mrs. Happiness Iornem.

When contacted, Mrs. Iornem and her husband denied knowing the girl or her claims. In contrast, Mrs. Sombu maintained that the family residence is located at North Bank, opposite the Federal Housing Estate second gate, Makurdi.

To help verify the claim, Mrs. Sombu was asked to provide a video for identification purposes. She later sent photographs to support her claim, excluding the first image already in circulation.

The photos she sent are in comment section.

Further verification and documentation are ongoing as authorities and concerned individuals seek to establish the true identity of the girl and reunite her with her family.
