 Anambra Government Reaffirms Mega City Drive, Demolishes Scores of Illegal Structures By Ruth Orji  The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing regeneration drive and restoration of sanity across the state through enforcement exercises and demolition of illegal structures statewide. The exercise was led by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Barrister Chijioke Ojukwu, on July 8, in line with the Physical Planning Law of Anambra State. Stating that it is no longer business as usual, the commissioner urged residents to take every notice received from the ministry seriously and comply promptly with planning regulations henceforth. He, however, said several eviction notices had been served but were taken with a pinch of salt, adding that demolitions followed because structures defaced the environment or obstructed pedestrian walkways. Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bagom, Sacks 30 Special Advisers

The Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bagom, has dismissed 30 special advisers as part of a governance restructuring exercise.

According to Bologi Ibrahim, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, the decision was announced during Bagom’s first council meeting with his newly sworn-in commissioners at the Government House, Minna. The move aims to reshuffle and reposition the aides’ portfolios to enhance efficiency and effectiveness under the governor’s New Niger agenda.

Bologi noted that the governor expressed gratitude to the affected aides for their dedication and contributions to his administration, wishing them success in their future endeavors.
