 The credibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voters’ register has come under intense scrutiny ahead of the 2027 general elections, following revelations by INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan that names of deceased persons remain on the register. Amupitan disclosed that names of voters who died as far back as 15 years ago are still listed, a situation critics say could undermine the integrity of the 2027 polls and lead to significant financial waste through the printing of excess ballot papers and other election logistics. The INEC chairman made the revelation while receiving the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Abisoye Coker-Odusote, and her management team during a courtesy visit in Abuja on Wednesday. Obamas planned to meet Rob and Michele Reiner the night the Hollywood couple were killed

Former First Lady Michelle Obama revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that she and former President Barack Obama had planned to see Rob and Michele Reiner the night the couple was tragically killed. The Reiners were found dead from apparent knife wounds in their Brentwood home Sunday afternoon. Their 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, was arrested later that night on suspicion of the killings.

Michelle Obama described the Reiners as “some of the most decent, courageous people you ever want to know,” pushing back against President Trump’s comments labeling Rob Reiner “deranged” and “tortured and struggling.” She emphasized the couple’s dedication to family, fairness, and equity. The Obamas, who have long ties to Hollywood through their Higher Ground production company, expressed heartbreak over the loss. Barack Obama issued a statement mourning the couple, praising Rob Reiner’s achievements in film and television, and highlighting the couple’s lifelong commitment to purpose and inspiring others.
