 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Olukoyede Charges Nigerians on Love, Light and hope at Christmas


The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede has called on Nigerians to embrace the values of love, light and hope which Christ exemplifies and move the nation forward on the strength of those values.


He gave the charge in Abuja on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, in a Christmas Message to the nation.  According to him, “Nigeria needs the refreshing hope, love and light which Christ brought to the entire world”  He enjoined Nigerians to join hands together to make the nation greater and more respected in the comity of nations. 


“Let’s join hands together to make our nation greater, stronger and richer.  Corruption is a drawback. We should confront it more fiercely to allow the abundant life of God manifest in our nation”.


He also tasked Nigerians to embrace the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu and allow the agenda ignite stronger hope of greater Nigeria in them.  “Let the Renewed Hope agenda of Mr. President ignite fresh hopes of revival in us that Nigeria will rise again”, he said.
