Blaming opposition for hunger is ‘delusion’, Atiku tells Tinubu Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused President Bola Tinubu of blaming the opposition for the country’s economic hardship. He said the President was trying to evade responsibility for his administration’s policies. Tinubu had earlier on Saturday blamed his political opponents for hunger and poverty in the country while speaking at the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna. “I hear my opponent talking about hunger, poverty. Who created it? They did! They created the hunger, they created the poverty. We are trying to eradicate it,” the President said.  SHETTIMA, ALIA, DIGNITARIES GRACE AKUME'S SON'S WEDDING IN BENUE

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, on Sunday hosted a grand wedding ceremony for his son, Samuel Aondoakura, in Benue State, drawing top political figures from across the country.


The high-profile event came just days after Akume welcomed his new wife, Zaynab Ngohemba, into his family home.


Vice President Kashim Shettima attended the ceremony as the representative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, underscoring the importance of the occasion.


The Vice President’s presence was confirmed in a statement issued via X by his spokesman and Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Mr Stanley Nkwocha.


“Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has arrived in Benue State to grace the wedding reception of the son of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume,” Nkwocha said.

He explained that the wedding joined Samuel Aondoakura Akume and Deborah Ershima, daughter of Engineer Msula Atoga, in holy matrimony.


According to Nkwocha, the Vice President was received by Senator Akume and the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, alongside other prominent dignitaries.


The ceremony attracted a large gathering of political leaders, traditional rulers and well-wishers, turning the wedding into a major social and political event in the state.
