 The credibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voters’ register has come under intense scrutiny ahead of the 2027 general elections, following revelations by INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan that names of deceased persons remain on the register. Amupitan disclosed that names of voters who died as far back as 15 years ago are still listed, a situation critics say could undermine the integrity of the 2027 polls and lead to significant financial waste through the printing of excess ballot papers and other election logistics. The INEC chairman made the revelation while receiving the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Abisoye Coker-Odusote, and her management team during a courtesy visit in Abuja on Wednesday.  Shock as Popular Radio DJ Warras Shot Dead in Johannesburg CBD


Shock and disbelief have gripped many following reports that popular radio broadcaster and programme host DJ Warras was shot and killed in the Johannesburg CBD earlier today.


 The news of his alleged death was first shared by Durban-based radio station Gagasi FM, where he previously worked. His passing was also confirmed by his friend, Rob Hersov, who shared the information publicly.


 DJ Warras was widely respected in the radio industry and known for his influence and contribution to broadcasting. Details surrounding the incident remain unclear at this stage.


 Police have not yet released an official statement regarding the shooting. Authorities are expected to investigate the matter further to establish the full circumstances of the incident
