🇳🇴 Daniel Daga Sentenced by Norwegian Court, Appeals Verdict Molde FK midfielder Daniel Daga has been sentenced to six months in prison by a Norwegian court after being found guilty of committing a sexual act without consent. The Nigerian midfielder joined Molde FK from Enyimba just a year ago as one of the promising young talents to move from the NPFL to Europe. However, Daga has appealed the ruling through his lawyer, meaning the decision is not yet legally final and the case will continue through the Norwegian judicial system. Molde FK have also confirmed that the midfielder will not be included in the club’s matchday squad until further notice while the legal process continues.

THREE FEARED DEAD AS PICNIC TRIP TURNS TRAGIC IN BURUKU

27th December, 2025

Tragedy has struck again at River Buruku in Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State, where three bodies were recovered following a picnic outing that ended in disaster.

The incident, which occurred on December 26, 2025, has thrown the community into mourning. A widely shared social media post revealed that the victims were part of a group that visited the river for leisure, only for the outing to turn deadly. Recovery operations the following day led to the retrieval of three bodies from the river.

Disturbing images from the scene, accompanied by warnings, showed emergency responders, an ambulance, and crowds of anxious onlookers gathered at the riverbank during search and rescue efforts. As of December 27, official authorities were yet to release a detailed statement, leaving many questions unanswered.

River Buruku is notorious for its strong currents and has recorded several drowning incidents in the past, particularly during festive seasons when recreational visits peak. Despite repeated warnings from community leaders and local authorities, the river remains a high-risk attraction.

As search efforts continue, families anxiously await confirmation of the victims’ identities and clarity on the circumstances surrounding the tragedy. The latest incident has once again reignited concerns over safety lapses at popular but dangerous river sites.

Grief hangs heavy over Buruku. And the message is painfully clear: festive fun can turn fatal in a moment of carelessness.
